@PhilHarrision, In the picture you linked to, I didn't notice any Triangle/Square/Circle/X buttons. If that four button in the "very small ones" in the upper part of controller, below the ball lookalike thing, then isn't it too small ? Refer to my comment to Joe80 below for comparison with E3 prototype. E3 prototype is very similar to Wii mote, and is better. I think Sony change the layout to avoid being sued by Nintendo for copying look & Feell or the button placement on Wii mote.
Joe80, Look at this picture. Do you notice the dpad, the circle button, Triangle and X button. There are lots of button in the E3 version.
@mrahaju, That's the whole point of a motion controller, less buttons to push. I don't recall seeing any buttons on the prototype at E3. Wiimote has lots of buttons because it's made to double as a traditional controller.
The New Motion Controller is a JOKE. I prefer the old Sony Wand, revealed on E3, especially since the new one didn't have many button. Wii mote have way more button than the Sony New MC.
@apujanata, I think we'll see more, especially from 3rd parties as it gets closer. I was upset that most of the games were PSN titles, but I was happy to see Resident Evil 5 Alternative Edition.
A Sony press release gave details re-confirming a Spring 2010 release along with details about new games to support the Motion Controller and already released games that will support the Motion Controller through a patch. See the link for the list of games and more details.
It appears Sony's plan this holiday is going a little too well.
According to SCEA head boss Jack Tretton, the company has seen a massive spike in sales since the price cut announcement last month. "We are up about 300 percent over where we were pre-price drop," he told Reuters. "We are up significantly versus last year."
But perhaps the announcement came just a few months too early...
