I for one have been waiting for a PS3 Slim model. I also got the PS2 Slim model when that came out years ago. Even though the console is just a box that spends most of its time sitting under the TV, there is an appeal to a smaller, less energy consuming (and therefore less heat) design. Does anyone know if the PS3 Slim requires an external power supply?
I think the top end of our expectation for PS3 slim NPD would be what 360 did the same month when Halo 3 came out (about 500k ish). It's difficult to guage how much pent up demand there is and how that might be tempered by the recession. I don't blame people for being cautious. Will be the most interesting NPD for a while I think.
Just a heads up that there seems to be a 250GB model in the pipeline.

It does not. It's internal like the fat PS3.
