"Capcom has broken away from many survival horror conventions it pioneered. The creepy suspense of earlier games has been replaced with action-packed intensity that will instantly appeal to some & disappoint others. As an action game, RE5 is a success, there’s a wealth of replayability through item collection, upgrades, score chasing & unlockable Mercenaries mode. But this is no gentle nudge to the formula of previous RE games; it’s an evolution. If you can accept that, you just might love RE5."
Gamezine: First day sales of Resident Evil 5 are in from Japan. The game sold four times as much on the PlayStation 3.
According to Ameblo.jp Resident Evil 5 sold 278,000 on its first day in Japan.
What's more incredible is that Resident Evil 5 has beaten launch day sales of Resident Evil 4. The game sold 117,000 copies on the Gamecube in January 2005 and 145,000 copies on the PlayStation 2 in December 2005.
As expected, the David-Bowie-soundalike Albert Wesker will be making an appearance in Resident Evil 5. The latest issue of Famitsu confirms his appearance, as well as introduce a new character into the mix. Her name is Excella Gionne (is that a car?) -- the daughter of a prominent family, Wesker's new collaborator is the head of the Tricel pharmaceutical company's branch in Africa, according to 1UP.
@vGInfidel, Let's see if he notice that he is getting lots of downbid (-9 as of this time) from his double post of White Knight Story Release Date, and remove that article.
People are trying to give you advice and yet you fail to take any notice it seems.
How is the film, completely seperate to the game in terms of story etc. being released on blu-ray at a time no where near the games release an article worthy piece of news that could affect the stock price? The answer is it isnt, and this should not be an article.
If you're just dying to know more about this direct-to-Blu-ray film release, Blu-ray.com scored some skin-crawling details regarding the zombie flick. Video will be presented in "1.78:1 1080p AVC" which is complemented by a "5.1 Dolby TrueHD soundtrack." With specs like that, stepping into the world of survival horror won't ever be the same.
UK, September 2, 2008 - Capcom has confirmed that Resident Evil 5's control system is to undergo an overhaul, with a revised scheme to be unveiled at this October's Tokyo Game Show.
With Takeuchi referring to the new system as similar to Gears of War, expect a new duck and cover system to replace the classic Resident Evil style of stop and shoot.
TalkPlayStation.com writes:"From what we've seen in the trailers and videos from E3, you can't shoot while running in Resident Evil 5. Resident Evil 4 has this same problem and quite a lot of people complained about it. The stop and shoot mechanic is back.
We contacted Capcom regarding this issue and they sent a quick response back"
When the first trailer for Resident Evil 5 showed a white protaganist killing hordes of savage black people, some sections of the press and blogosphere accused the game of being racist. Producer Jun Takeuchi insists that a new movie showing more ethnically diverse foes and protagonists was not a change made in response to the criticism.
