Capcom is pleased to announce that "Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles", which was released in November 2007 for the Wii® has shipped over 1 million units worldwide.
The Resident Evil series, which has sold over 34.5 million units globally (as of February 29, 2008), is one of Capcom's most critically acclaimed and beloved franchises. As a testament to Resident Evil's longevity and success, the series remains as innovative and original today as when the first title shipped in 1996.
This is for those who have yet to grab a copy of Capcom's Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles. Amazon is currently offering US 20 off the title's original list price, bringing it down to only US 29.99.
Thanks for the heads up, apujanata. I did check the recent news before submitting that, but I must have just missed the previous comment. (I still think it is newsworthy enough to warrant an article submission.)
@apujanata, Posting an article that highlights the info is fine in this case because it had only been mentioned in a comment and an article is more prominent and makes it easier to be brought to the attention of traders.
Already posted here, but not as an article (it is posted as comment). I don't know whether this count as double post or not. I will let other judge it (I wouldn't upbid or downbid this article).
@Just_Ben, This is good news for hardcore titles on the Wii as it shows that titles that aren't direct ports of other hardcore games can still have a good success on the Wii. While this is part of an established franchise, it is more supportive of showing hardcore games can sell on the Wii than RE4 because of the fact that it isn't a port of an already proven seller that was also a super highly reviewed game.
