Gran Turismo HD was the title that turned into a demo. Gran Turismo 5 is apparently the name of the game. The listing used to be HD but was renamed like a month ago or something when the news came out.
I thought GT5 stock was declining intraday these past few days due to the lack of force feedback but it appears that is not a major issue for a lot of people here.
Whoa I just entered in shares of GT5 to sell that were above the bidding prices, and the second I clicked to enter them in they did not appear on the Orderbook but it was stated they did not sell yet. However, they did sell. I guess I experienced selling them the very exact second someone placed an order to buy some well above the other standing bids?!
I don't really play racers much so I'm curious how significant is the lack of force feedback in GT5? In games like Final Fantasy XII, force feedback is totally worthless and actually annoying.
I agree with riekert and agentjim that this stock is under valued. To anticipate sales to only attain the 1.8 million figure is laughable. This is especially true considering the previous sales information. The PS3 should also sell more than that figure by next year due to the size of the current sony user base.
The GT series is arguably the best racing series of all time. GTHD would only become obsolete once the next installment of GT comes along. The earliest I can imagine that happening would be 2009/2010 based on the gaps between the various GT games over the years. I agree with AgentJim that this stock is still greatly undervalued.
The past success of the GT series would indicate great popularity for the franchise. The one concern I have for buying too much into early PS3 titles is the install base of the PS3 when the game comes out. By the time PS3 install base is large enough to support something like 5 million sales of one game, these games will be obsolete. Additionally, according to the article GT4 sold 6.25 million copies worldwide, but this was when the PS2 install base nearly 100 million. I believe at best Sony will have shipped 5 million PS3s by this time next year. What percentage of those people can we assume may pick up GT HD?
The article from total video games seems to indicate that based on previous installment sales data, GTHD is grossly undervalued. This looks like an incredible buy.
