It's been a fairly big Tokyo Game Show for Gran Turismo 5. At the Sony conference centering on Japan, it was announced that the Land of the Rising Sun would see the game in March, that there would be 20 locations with a total of 70 track variations, that there'd be more than 950 cars in the game including hybrids and electrics, and so much more. Plus, the show...
Even better? You can damage those rides. (video incl.)
@Joe80, Out of those list you mentioned, I think only Uncharted 2 are going to sell well, but none of them (including U2) are going to be H/W seller, just like MW2 are not going to be H/W seller.
The most significant factor for holiday is price cut, the combined games available on PS3 (not just new game).
Yes, I think it is a shame. Forza 3 for me had it all then I discover no weather effects which I find frankly bizarre especially as one of the highly featured gameplay footage was of Le Mans.
Then we see a half arsed Damage system implemented by GT5.
I am a 360 man so Forza will get my vote as I will not be buying PS3 for any one game but what about rest of you which one is crippled the least, Forza 3 or GT5?
If I was trying to be neutral I think I would still go for Forza 3 as it looks to be more fun.
@KultofCows, At least no-one is buying Mario Kart for it's realistic driving experience (no damage consequences). They are buying it for the fun and frantic race (thanks to the items, like bullet bill or spiny shell).
So there would be no damage dealt to your car in any other mode when you hit obstacles or other cars? I always felt that was one of the core factors to a racing game. While you drive very fast, you have to be careful as to not damage your car and resulting performance hits to your car later in the race (and damage you have to repair with your winnings as in these RPG-like racing games). If the only cost to hit obstacles is having to re-accelerate, it makes the game far less realistic (which is what these games are going for) and more like bumper cars...or Mario Kart.
