I think that the simexchange's forecast (9 million) is a possible scenario. The x-box 360 has many rpg fans, specially with their enfasis on that field (mass effect 2, fable 2, star ocean). I still think that ps3 is going to sell more, but I believe that final fantasy 13's sales are going to be higher. We'll just have to wait and see...
@apujanata,My reading of the original Rueters article (not the Gamespot summary) is that SE is specifically talking about shipping 6 million on PS3. I don't read Japanese the best though so if there are any native Japanese here who can read it that'd be nice.
@KultofCows, Hmm. Should we split the 6 Million to A: 4 Million on PS3 (strong in Japan & non-UK Europe) and 2 Million on X360 (strong in US & UK, no Japan release) B : 3.5 Million PS3 and 2.5 Million X360
I am more inclined to scenario A, which is why I have lots of short on X360 version. Even after today's big adjustment, combined prediction is still 8.5 Million.
Anyone think X360 version will be >50% of total sales ?
Square Enix CEO Yoichi Wada predicts FFXIII to sell 6 million copies worldwide. Dragon Quest IX (DS) has sold 4 million copies in Japan since July.
Note: Currently the simExchange is forecasting 9 million copies of FFXIII across PS3 and Xbox 360.
We hate to spoil your dependable Sunday evening treat, but we thought the pointy-haired RPG enthusiasts amongst you would want to hear a remarkable Squeenidos statistic -- in its launch week, the Blu-ray version of Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children Complete, which contains a demo for Final Fantasy XIII, sold 274,774 units in Japan. We can't wait to see how well Advent Children Totally Completer fares.
@PhilHarrision, That's good news. I hate DLC. Good to see they will get to work on more games instead of spending time making some additional throw on to a game already released for more money.
