@Phantomar,PS3...at current pace will be approx 30million consoles...not really a stretch that 20% would buy an FF game...I'm more worried about the Versus.
This was at ATH over 10 mill, but that was before it was announced for Xbox360. I for one do not expect this to sell 10 mill copies total. If it did, I'd expect the ratio in Xbox vs PS3 to be 60/40.
How this game can be selling at almost 600DKP just baffels me. What am I not getting here? Where is the huge market for this game?
Kitase gave an update on the development progress stating that several aspects of Final Fantasy XIII are now nearly done. "The scenario is pretty much complete and the artistic side is about 80% complete," said Kitase. While that's a lot of work already through the fire, there's still a few things left to do and don't forget the good old spit-shine polish.
According to a schedule released by Square Enix, Final Fantasy XIII will be shown in video form only at the Tokyo Game Show this October. Disappointing news for those of us who'd like to know what - if anything - has changed since the colossal RPG pinned its colours to the multiplatform mast at E3.
Bit sketchy this, but there we are. Finalfantasy-xiii.net’s reporting that Dengeki’s recent interview with FFXIII chap Nomura includes a quote that says the game’s demo may be sold separately.
The taster’s going to be included in the Blu-ray release of Advent Children: Complete in Japan next March, so reaction that you may be able buy it as a standalone product is likely to be mixed.
Toriyama then talks about a "new style" where FFXIII will not have an actual main character. Instead, players will experience the story from the viewpoints of different characters. One of the main focuses of the demo will be to allow players to try out this "new style." The battle system also allows you to switch characters; it will be party-based and the player will switch between each character during combat.
Square Enix announced that it will bundle a demo version of FFXIII with the Blu-ray release of Final Fantasy VII Advent Children & new footage of Versus XIII and Agito XIII. Advent Children Complete, as the Blu-ray version is called, hits JA in March 2009. SE is also planning a hardware bundle that combines it (& the FFXIII demo disc) with the PlayStation 3. The full Japanese release for FFXIII is officially set for 2009, Square Enix also confirmed for the first time today.
