"Sega's NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams (yes, the first name must always be written so that only the "i" is lowercase!) is expected to be one of E3's biggest titles. But just prior to the start of the show, we've managed to get a few new details on Sonic Team's return to its long lost franchise thanks to a two page spread in the latest issue of Famitsu. The big revelation in the magazine are the identities of the two characters whose dreams will be infiltrated by Nights."
Months ago, Sega announced that it would be bringing to Wii exclusively a sequel to the beloved Sega Saturn game NiGHTS into Dreams. Advanced Media Network recently had the opportunity to ask the games producer, Takashi Iizuka, five questions about the upcoming NiGHTS Journey of Dreams. See what we asked and what Sega had to say below.
This feature by Next-Gen talks about Nights and why it was significant. It also talks about the features of the first Nights game and why the game itself was so unique and hard to imitate. Overall a good article for people wishing to get to know more about Nights.

wow already at a volume of 200,000 shares. nights was an interisting game and if it does like other early releases rayman and redsteel then this game could do a lot more not to mention the wii has the base necessary for sales and many sega fanboys ive talked to recently said theyre going to buy a wii just for this game alone. so new wii's big fan base not to mention games like this sell very well on the wii nights is underrated
Okay, Nights was a cult classic, but releasing a sequel to a cult classic does not guarantee a hit. Look at Panzer Dragoon Orta. Not only does the game have low buzz and marketability, but it's being developed by Sonic Team, a team that has lost their passion for development and, as a result, their touch. The odds of this game being a Sonic-type disaster are huge, and Nights doesn't have nearly the rabid fanbase Sonic does to guarantee sales of a poor title. Sorry, but this game just won't be a hit.
