Leo Cubbin demos some new features in LittleBigPlanet. This video clip gives a great insight into what this really weird game is. I had a hard time grasping this before this video.
I don’t mean to brag when I say that I had already played “Little Big Planet” a few times before trying out the malleable PlayStation 3 platformer again last week.
"We got into small groups, each with a member of Media Molecule to guide us, and were unleashed with everything the creation tools had to offer. The full game will ship with video tutorials to help you learn the system.
LittleBigPlanet's Create mode is as easy to use as the developers originally promised, and while making some of the physics-based elements work can be tricky, there is a huge amount of scope when it comes to what can be created."
Speaking at Sony's PlayStation Day 2008 event in London, Sony bigwig Kaz Hirai confirmed that the burlap-bouncing, community-powered platformer would be gracing PlayStation 3 systems in October.
LittleBigPlanet is currently in development for PSP at Sony Studio Liverpool, a source has told CVG today. No further details were offered as to how the game will work on the PSP.
It's going to be fascinating to watch LittleBigPlanet go head to head with that other poster-boy for the community-creation age, Spore, when they both release this September. Spore might be more successful by virtue of its platform and pedigree, but at the moment, the PS3 game looks the more coherent, consistent, easy to grasp, rewarding and just plain lovable. It may not be the biggest PS3 release this year, but one thing's for sure, it's absolutely the most important.
@pilias_simber, I definitely agree, though I don't know if its specific to PS3 games. I noticed that all the big name stocks and the consoles have been inflating as of late.
BTW, we've gotten flooded with Rapid PS3 fans on the site apparently, all the PS3 stocks have seen dramatic increases in stock price this week. This stock is overvalued a great deal.
