@pilias_simber, I would be shocked if LittleBigPlanet costs $60. Even Warhawk was what $40 for the DL version and the $60 version got you a free headset. I think LBP will cost somewhere between $20-$40, with the DL ver cheaper than the Bluray.
1st quarter sales aren't always low when it comes to big game releases. I'm making things up? You put words in my mouth, I did not say this "will probably be packed in or lowered in price". I said by Christmas 08 it may be packed in or lowered in price anyway.
@Joe80, Its currently slotted for 1st quarter 08, so at max it will be 3 months later than previously planned. Regarding a lower price, where are you getting that from?
1st quarter sales are generally low, especially in Jan and Feb. I think you're just making things up now, I see now reason to assume this "will probably be packed in or lowered in price", why do you assume this?
@pilias_simber, I think it may be delayed farther than 1 month from its previous release date. It probably will be priced lower than regular games and it will also be available on PSN. If it is coming out in early 2008 it's sales won't be too affected by Christmas 2008, by then it may be packed in or lowered in price anyway.
By not releasing this game during the holidays it will seriously reduce it's overall sales because the bulk of game sales happen during the Christmas time period. Even with the limited install base by delaying it 1 month they now miss the chance to get in with this Christmas, and next Christmas it has to compete with games like GT5, MGS4, FFXIII, and a number of other big games, this game will be virtually forgotten by next Christmas.
@pilias_simber, I missed the fact or you did? I'm confused by your comment. How is this being delayed going to kill this game? Wouldn't it do better when the userbase is larger then trying to have it compete this holiday with all the huge, regular game, releases?
@Alchemy, I'm still not even convinced that the PS3 was the right audience for a game like this, I have my doubts this game will really take off, I have seen virtually no advertisements for the game, and other games seem to have taken the spotlight from it.
@zeromous, an AAA title on the Wii can sell 5-10 million copies. An AAA title on the 360 is more like 2-5 million copies. An AAA title on the PS3 is more like 1-2 million copies...Resistance will only sell about 2 million...as will Motorstorm with the bundling. An AA title on PS3 is probably around 1 million copies.

Not that it is 'proof' but HMV uk for instance is pre ordering LBP at 39 pounds...the same as other new PS3 releases.
