If this is free to play, should it be closed as they will not have actual 'sales'? That is, there will not be unit sales to track and thus anticipate a proper price for this stock.
Huxley is a Free2Play+ game ( meaning it is totaly free to download and play but it has a micro-payment system that allows you to buy special items and features ingame by depositing real money.
Sadly the company that owns the rights to it, decided to pull it away from IJJI and have no plans still to this date to release it in North america.
I know this because I was part of every one of the closed beta test that IJJI had for it and they made the announcement.
I will miss it because even though it may not have been perfect it was alot of fun to play.
@welshbloke,Ah...I see. Are there other large games that work like that? Buy the disk at presumably full price and then online is forever free except for paying for upgrades etc (on PC)?
I thought you still had to buy the boxed product though to get the free play going. Eitherway still a lot of things we do not know especially surrounding the 360 version.
Brought this up in June...to those trading this...is there evidence that this will be a paid product? From what I linked to before this is going the free/microtransaction route....don't think we should be trading it if so.
There's been a closed beta for the Korean MMO/FPS hybrid running on Fileplanet for a little while now, but that's not of interest to you. You probably weren't part of it. You can, however, be a part of an open closed beta (bear with me), which is now seeing anyone and everyone in North America with a Fileplanet account (not a subscription, just an account) given access to the beta.
This and the XBOX version of the game need to be rolled back I think based on this. From the sounds of it both PC and Xbox versions will be free with micro-transaction support.
I don't know what stage Huxley's beta test would be at, but the stress test for WoW was intended only for a week (then it was extended by a week). However, it was preceded by a more extended beta test.
Depends, it is normal to have more than one phase of testing. This may just indicate an early phase. Good to see something happening with Huxley though.
