I was amazed the Metacritic future closed at 28 DKP! I don't think I've ever seen something like that before.
Good work Lithium... this is like the old days of TSE when people posted in the forum and the stock moved. I think people should be posting their rationale for a target sales price, it helps others get a better feel of what's going on.
I'm on a quest this morning and finding overpriced stocks.
This game was a completely sucked and had bad sales. Bad reviews and bad word of mouth got around fast. By the end of the second month sales could be counted in the hundreds. Using VGC and giving the EU region the same sales as the USA this game could still be overpriced by 100%.
The way I see it, both the 360 and PS3 versions did not sell more than 150k. There's a small chance the 360 sold a bit more I guess.
Im posting this same message in the PS3 section as well.
Oscar-nominated actor Mickey Rourke will lend his vocal talents to Bethesda Softworks as the lead character in upcoming first-person shooter Rogue Warrior, says the publisher in a statement.
The game -- based on a series of books by former Navy SEAL Richard "Demo Dick" Marcinko -- is slated for release this fall.
I think you're being pretty hasty Miyazaki, we know very little about this game at the moment. If it manages to pull off what looks to be a pretty unique concept (and maybe gets some better box art :D) the name Bethesda alone will probably sell this game. Especially if it comes out after Fallout 3, when the name is fresh in people's minds. I don't understand how you can say that their connection is "irrelevant" just because they're not the developer. I'd hazard to say that 80% of game buyers don't know the difference between a developer and a publisher anyways.
As far as Zombie goes, yeah, they're a bit of a no name but as spraydad pointed out, they do have a bit of history. I'm not sure how much they had to do with America's Army but I'm gonna go out on a limb and say they probably know a thing or two about making a tactical shooter.
Bethesda isn't the developer so in that regard it's irrelevant. Zombie Studios have developed titles in the past, but there's no pedigree associated with their name. You've got a title that has no one excited about it and that has been in development hell for some time. You can gaurantee that this title won't be selling 1 million copies, 800k copies or even 600k copies.
An unknown game from an unknown developer is priced only slightly less than the next Ghost Recon title (currently priced at 106 DKP). Obviously overpriced -- a more realistic target at least for the time being has to be 50 DKP.. in time it should drop well below that.
During their interview with John Williamson, IGN got some details on Rouge Warrior's online multiplayer. They were told to expect 24 player online games, full bot support, four player online co-operative play and a unique tiling system that enables a huge amount of unique playing fields. Along with these features, there will be 10 unique game modes, including Deathmatch, Capture the Flag, King of Hill, and some more unique match tyes.
There are also plans to have additional map downloads after release.
There are more details in the article.
