I believe that the PS2 version can still continue to sell more units in 2007 as the franchise is very casual friendly, gaining in popularity in Europe and PS2 is still a viable system in the US, especially if price drops to $99 this year.
Uhm, what's with the low forecast on this one? According to NPD GHIII has already sold ~1,5 million in the US alone. Worldwide it has probably passed this expectation of 2,24 million. Noone cares about PS2?
We're not sure how this news slipped by us, but we wanted to let potential PS2 Guitar Hero III buyers know about yet another exclusive GHIII bundle on the market.
wondering if i invested right in the ps2 version of gh3. On one side the ps2 install base is huge, but on the other with so many people moving to nextgen wondering if ps2 owners might either get new hardware or choose not to invest more in their ps2? My bets on a lot of ps2 sales still... but wondering..
If you're one of the few PlayStation 2 stragglers who haven't already picked up a pair of Guitar Hero controllers via a previous installment of the game, you might want to hit up your local Target store on the 28th. They'll have a special exclusive Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock bundle available for the PS2, including the game and two specially designed guitar controllers, along with the standard guitar strap and sticker combo package.
Though the article focuses on the new controllers (which are wireless on all consoles, with the Wii guitar containing a Remote slot in the body) and the in-game guitar options (14 guitar, 11 bass), also of note is the new official name for the sequel, Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock.
