In that case (25-30%), what we know FOR SURE is 300K (not sure about 400K yet, you might believe it to be 400K, but not firm indicator on that, since the next level is double platinum, or 600K, which it has not achieved yet) for UK which translate to 1 Million - 1.2 Million (using 300K as base, not 400K, for reason mentioned above).
I see. Sorry that I didn't click on the link, and didn't realize that the status was upgraded from Gold to Platinum.
IIRC, UK is around 40% of Europe gaming, so Europe should be 750K - 1 Million. How do you arrive at the 1.5 Million for PAL ? Australia # shouldn't be significant (percentage wise compared to Europe).
A little bit correction : IIRC, UK is 200K+, not yet 300K, since the status is Gold, not Platinum. Silver : 100K Gold : 200K Platinum : 300K Double Platinum : 600K Diamond : 1200K
This game will sell way more than this amount easily. FACT It sold ~ 1m in NA and ~ 500k in Japan and these are not the strongest market for this game, Europe is. Just look at UK charts. It sold more than 300k in the UK alone (confirmed by ELSPA) and I think it's at ~ 400k by now: http://www.elspa.com/?i=3944 IMO it's at ~ 1.5m in PAL territories alone which put the LTD sales of it at more than 3m worldwide. Remember that it will sell very well in the upcoming months and will see a huge boost during Beijing Olympics. Atm 4m is the least amount anyone should predict for this game's LTD sales.
‘Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games’ stages a Herculean comeback, jumping back into the All Formats Top 40 at No1 with renewed stock handing Sega’s Wii title its third All Formats gold medal.
It is the third different title to reach No1 so far this year, selling more than twice as much as the next title on an individual format (Dr. Kawashima’s Brain Training).
Aussie game charts: December 24-December 30, 2007
Just some further evidence that Mario & Sonic have some legs. Number one seller in Australia, post-holiday.
@Bleezy,With a lot of information on how this is selling and the huge non stop advertising here in europe and like you said about the BEIJING 2008 there is a good chance this could hit 3.5million id say this has allready hit the 1million mark. With the wii shortages everyware it will sell in january.Looks like this will sell all year round.
