@deftangel, Current LTD vs simEx GLS (before today's changes) : Wii Play : 16,150 vs 30700 : 1.90 Multiplier Wii Fit : 8,760 vs 17180 : 1.96 Multiplier SSBB : 7,470 vs 10400 : 1.39 Multiplier Mario Kart Wii : 9,530 vs 14220 : 1.49 Multiplier
If we use Wii Fit and Wii Play Multiplier, we arrive at 18.679 Million GLS (1867 DKP). Of course, it is possible that MK Wii's multiplier are lower than Wii Fit and Wii Play (doesn't have as good a leg as those 2 games), which is apparent in NPD Top 10 Sep, which have Wii Fit and Wii Play, but NOT MK Wii.
Since Mario Kart Wii have better legs than SSBB, I didn't use SSBB multiplier for it.
In the latest Nintendo report in the news, this has sold 9.53m up till this quarter. It's still knocking about in the top 10 charts in almost every region most weeks and producing a good attach rate as a result. I don't expect that to change this Christmas so it could be doing big numbers.
Looks to be pretty undervalued to me when you look at Wii Fit in comparison.
I adjusted the summary, I think I understand what people have posted now. It was Q1 sales of 09, not lifetime sales. I was not following Wii Fit that closely to know it's already over that #.
@apujanata, It looks as though you have the numbers sorted out (+1 upbid). I was trying to figure out how the Wii Fit LTD was only 3.42 million when the Japan and U.S. numbers alone adding up to approximately that number. I would say that by sometime in August at the latest that Wii Fit should hit 5 million worldwide.
"3.42 million units worldwide since launch" Kotaku's sentence clearly showed that it refer to Wii Fit's LTD.
In Japan alone, Wii Fit's LTD is around 2.3 Million by end of June. In UK, Wii Fit is 300K+ by end of May 2008, so we can assume at least 1 Million LTD in Europe by end of June. Combined with US's 1 Million unit by June NPD, Wii Fit's LTD should be at least 4.3 Million.
I think Kotaku just interpret incorrectly Nintendo's statement : "A total of 3.42 million units of Wii Fit were sold worldwide" as LTD, while Nintendo meant it as Q1FY09 sales # (Apr - June 08).
