Nintendo has raised its guidance three times over the past year, most recently in January, for the financial year ending March 31 - but the strengthening yen will cause the value of overseas sales to drop, which could impact the next financial year.
According to Famitsu figures, DS was by far the biggest selling console in Japan for fiscal 2007, moving 6.3 million units in the 12 months ending March 30 2008.
@lstormy10, Yeah, I don't know what happened, since I post it normally (could be browser problem), but I couldn't do anything about it, since I couldn't remove or edit my previous post.
Will this mean that DS will reach 150 Million # ? Since they are selling better than expectation everywhere (Japan in 2006 - 2007, US in 2008, UK in 2008).
@sagexsdx, Yea no lie, For me I bought a DS because it was affordable, had a good selection of games, and is super portable making it great for the bus ride into work. I feel the DS has really also brought a lot of people into console gaming who would've never experienced it before with their long line up of non-typical video games (i.e. brain challenge games). I feel this things will really help promote, DS sales over the long run.
i can vouch for this through personal experience. i went to VT this past weekend and apparently my group of friends who were also convened there - who use to not be really gamer types - all had DSs and they all pulled out their DSs for a Mario Kart session. It was the strangest thing to me to see all of them being interested enough to have dished out money for the handheld.
And apparenly according to them, the DS has been out of stock for a while now and they all had trouble getting it until just recently.
