"For now PSP users have to access the PlayStation Store on a PC and then transfer any downloaded content, but SCEA's Eric Lempel says they're 'definitively thinking about' creating a PSP direct store."
@Joe80, Are you talking about using the extended battery on the Slim? I have the Vader Slim, and I get plenty of battery for my needs as it is. I play at least an hour a day on the train, and I generally only have to charge once a week.
This entire article is useless fanboy drivel. Only 3 of their 8 reasons are even arguments for why the PSP will outsell the DS, and some of their reasons do not take into account the DS side, they only look at what the PSP is doing.
More excellent news about the integration of PSP with PS3. High Stakes Poker (online PSN poker game) is now playable anywhere you have WiFi on your PSP!
High Stakes Poker for the PS3 recently put out a PSP remote play patch, which allows you to take this title on the road. This is a great step for both the game and the remote play, they need to do monthly updates to add remote play to games, this would definitely set the PS3 apart from the competition.
@ixaarii, yes, this "misconception" of units shipped and units sold made the difference in many posts here.
Also, another fact I want to add is the strong, solid user base DS has: not for nothing one of the most awaited channels to be released on Wii is "Everyone's Nintendo", where you can download content to a DS.
I stopped believing their claims when their first point was about how many new PSPs were shipped in Japan. First they correctly call it "shipped", then they slip into considering them "sold"...not realizeing that Sony is channel stuffing them. They claim that 1 million were sold in the past two months, yet the next point of theirs show that they're selling about 60,000 per week. It doesn't take a math whiz to realize that those two numbers do NOT match up.
Honestly, the rest of their reasons just aren't compelling or convincing. Yes, the PSP has done well as Sony's first move into handheld gaming. Will it ever come close to the DS? Not a chance, no.
"We did a little research into the portable gaming space and—this is news to you as it is to us—came up with eight reasons why the PSP could be poised to overtake the behemoth money printing machine that is Nintendo's DS."
