The first big Wii game of 2009 was released over the weekend in Europe and America and VGChartz brings you our preliminary sales figures for the game.
Wii Sports Resort has already sold nearly 1.5 million copes worldwide according to our preliminary figures and like Wii Fit, Wii Play and Mario Kart Wii is expected to be a strong seller for the remainder of the year.
At Nintendo's E3 2009 Press conference, the company came out to show off some of the new sports that will be featured in the game.
In a trailer video for the game, skydiving, ping pong, archery, basketball, and samurai swords were shown.
@oznerol, I was expecting $9.99 for WM+. With this kind of price, it is as expensive as nunchuk. I might only buy 1 or 2, not 3 or 4 as per my plan if the price is $9.99.
Nintendo just put out this Press Release stating that the Wii Motion Plus accessory is coming out on June 8th for $19.99.
Wii Sports Resort is still coming out on July 26th and will include the WM+ for $49.99.
MTV Multiplayer has the latest pics of the WM+ showing an almost imperceptible change in the casing since the it was introduced at E3 last year.
Nintendo have today announced a release timeframe for Wii Sports Resort, the sequel to their insanely-popular Wii pack-in title, Wii Sports.
The game - along with the Wii MotionPlus peripheral technology it's there to support - will be out in Japan in June. Those outside of Japan will have to wait an extra month, with the game due "overseas" in July.
MTV Multiplayer's Stephen Totilo asked Reggie Fils-Aime about the missing game and peripheral, and Reggie suggested they could still make a spring release. "We haven't announced the full spring line-up ... And it feels like winter in Seattle right now."
Reggie also mentioned that Wii Sports Resort's controls had been improved beyond the previous demo. "The level of full motion capability is far in excess of what we showed at E3."
To be honest, I don't know. I'm looking at 20m as good enough to cash out what I made on the IPO but then I'm still long on Mario Kart Wii at 20m+ and this potentially is bigger than that.
