In Amazon, right now, Punch Out! is #1, with 31 days in Top 100, followed up by EA Active at #2, with 67 days in Top 100. Infamous (PS3) is #8, with 2o days in Top 100.
To come straight to the point, Punch Out!! on Wii is, in every aspect, far and away a much better game compared to the original.
Punch Out!! is a game that isn't so much a reincarnation of its 8-bit daddy, as it is an amplification. It's not what the old game actually was, but what we remember it being. It takes the parts that loom large in our memory, and expands them to match the stature they've gained over the years.
You'll probably want to switch to regular button-based controls after about a half-hour of play, though.
It's not that the controls are awful, necessarily -- you won't be mindlessly throwing your arms in every direction in some random attempt to land punches like one might in Wii Boxing -- it's just that they're, well, typical of every other Wiimote motion scheme ever.
