Well I looked at that older article and read that the CEO stated that he expects Infinity Ward to be the developer and thats not really a statement strictly saying that CoD6 will be developed by them. Or it could just be that my article didn't have its facts right I guess
While No extra information was added Activision just annouced four new games to release in 2009. Guitar Hero 5, a new Tony hawk game, A james bond racing game and Call of Duty 6. Call of Duty 6 has been changed to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. But no information has been released to show that Infinity Ward is the developer.
@Mr_Cynical, I'd love to see an 80's game. Has that decade ever really been used in games before? Might as well do it. I wouldn't imagine it going over well with the mainstream media.
Let's hope there's a different setting for this one. Another modern game would just seem like CoD 4 with added graphics. Vietnam (the most popular suggestion) would probably not happen as it would struggle to distinguish itself hugely from the pacific jungle battles of CoD 5. Perhaps the Clancy-esque "80s WW3 between NATO and the USSR" scenario?
Activision Publishing CEO Mike Griffith today confirmed that Call of Duty creator Infinity Ward, which most recently handled Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, will return to the franchise next year with Call of Duty 6.
