@Bleezy, That goes against all available statistics. So far the spread for every cross-platform game is that between 360 and PS3, the 360 version sells better. Your meathod of judging command involves substitutes. You are right, there are fewer substitutes for AC on PS3 then on 360, but that is only one factor. The 360 has a much higher installed user base, so the number of people who could potentially purchas AC on 360 is higher. Basically, because of what you said, a greated percentage of PS3 oowners might purchas AC, and a lower percentage of owners on 360. But even if that were the case (and I don't believe it will be) you could still end up with a greater number of sales on the 360.
@drl21, Article doesn't say how much of the 5mil is xbox 360, and how much is PS3. This stock estimates about half on 360? I don't think so...most of the 5mil is probably PS3 since they don't have as many cool games to choose from.
Ubisoft reports that Assasin's Creed is selling better than expected. they have increased their eacpext sales in 2007-2008 from 2.54 million to 5 million.
n less than four weeks Assassin's Creed recorded more than two and a half million units in sell-through sales worldwide, and is the fastest-selling new video game intellectual property in the US ever. Consequently, Ubisoft now forecasts that it will sell a minimum of five million units of the game in 2007-08 compared with its previous estimate of approximately three million.
yes, but to a certain extent the point here is not how good a game is or isn't, but how well a game will sell. Yes, the latter is partially affected by the former, but the influence has a limit. There are plenty of cases where bad games sell well simply because of a name, or hype. This game has already been selling extremely well, and I expect that to continue. Sure, had the game been better we may have been looking at a 10 million selling blockbuster, but there was enough hype around the game, and enouogh good reviews from popular sources (GameInformer, the best selling game magazine, gave it a 9) that I consider this stock extremely underpriced at less then 200 DKP.

Assassin's Creed is a total enigma of a game for me. I simply cannot disagree with any of the points in Tom's review; it's a classic example of developers getting lost in their own cleverness to the detriment of the core gameplay. The basic notion that you've seen all but one of the sub-missions by the time you've completed the first assassination is a chilling fact about the sheer lack of variety Ubisoft Montreal has offered up in piece of software that is otherwise revolutionary.
Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed has held onto the number one spot in both the individual and combined format charts in the UK, despite a 32 percent drop on its launch week sales.
According to a report by UK trade paper MCV, over 191,000 units of the console were sold during the week, breaking the previous record for weekly sales set by the PSP during its launch week in 2005 at 185,000 units.
