Submitted by mrahaju (9) at 2:43PM PST on January 24, 2009

Microsoft announced that it has moved the U.S. version of Gamefest, its annual game developers conference, into the first quarter of 2010, after receiving feedback from developers hoping to attend an event earlier in the year. The conference was last held in July 2008, and is typically held during the summer, which Microsoft's partners believe to be inconvenient for studios preparing their releases for the approaching holiday season.

MS Has No Answer For Their Broken XBOX Live DRM!

Consumerist - February 12, 2008

Submitted by apujanata (14935) at 3:53PM PST on February 12, 2008

This new replacement console (for RROD) has a different S/N, which cause all downloaded content only works now when the purchasing profile is signed into Xbox live. Additional profiles on the system can no longer access the content. I can no longer access the content when I'm not signed into Xbox Live. So any internet issues with my system or Xbox Live (which experienced serious problems for most of last month) means I can no longer use the items I have purchased.

Need a free copy of Windows Vista Ultimate? Are you incredibly trusting of big corporations? Well I have the deal for you, with a new program through Microsoft called the Windows Feedback Program. For the small price of privacy and perhaps some dignity, you can let Microsoft watch your every move for 3 months, in return for some software of your choice.

Live + Gamefly = Downloadable Music Content

CNET - December 7, 2007

Submitted by Bleezy (741) at 3:24AM PST on December 8, 2007

Microsoft has added downloadable music videos from Sony BMG to the Xbox Live Marketplace. Free promotional videos have been available on the platform since its November 2005 launch, but the new iteration adds a pay-to-download option featuring a far greater catalog. (Sounds sort of like part of Microsoft's greater plan to move the world to downloadable content)
