At this year's German Games Convention in Leipzig, EA announced that they will be releasing a tennis game in 2009. Developed by EAC in Vancouver, the title was designed with the Wii as the lead SKU and will feature motionplus compatibility to allow for tighter serves, forehands and backhands, and volleys at the net.

"Electronics Arts pulled in a cool $90 million in its first quarter, strictly from the digital distribution business. EA execs didn't break down the details on which distribution methods did how much, but with the company shilling via its online EA Store, as well as the PlayStation Store and Xbox Live Marketplace, is has ample opportunities."

The head shuffling continues at Electronic Arts, as one week after naming a new chief operating officer and president of global publishing, the company this morning announced that chief financial officer Warren Jenson has left the company after holding down the position since 2002. EA notes that Jenson will hang around to help close the books on the fiscal year-end reporting and help transition the role to someone else, a name that the company adds that it will announce shortly.

Last week, Electronic Arts revealed an offer put forward to Take-Two chairman Zelnick to buyout T2 for nearly $2 billion. Zelnick expediently shot down the offer.Yesterday brought news of a new player on the field that could tip the battle in EA's favor -- Enter: Jack Thompson!(T2 shareholder) He recently threw his support behind Electronic Arts in an impassioned letter, saying he would help "evict the Zelnick Trojan Horse from within Take-Two's corporate walls".
