There has been a lot of talk about the failure rate of the 360, with some pegging the failure rate of the system as high as 30%. Microsoft has claimed that the failure rate is a paltry 3%, however, the truth as always is somewhere in the middle.

Months ago, rumors pointed to Forza 2 and Marvel: UA as bundled games for the holidays. Today MSFT confirmed the 2 game holiday bundle, at $349 for Pro and $449 for Elite, in stores by the end of October.

Following the decision to set aside USD 1 billion for Xbox 360 repairs, the year-end loss for Microsoft's entertainment and devices division has reached 1.89 billion - up 47 per cent from last year. During the last quarter of the year Microsoft shipped 700,000 Xbox 360 units - down from 1.8 million during the same period last year.

Microsoft has confirmed that the Xbox 360 is to receive a price cut in Europe, with the Arcade unit now selling for GBP 129.99 / EUR 179.99. The new price points come into effect September 19, with the Premium unit complete with 60GB hard drive selling for GBP 169.99 / EUR 239.99 and the Xbox 360 Elite for GBP 229.99 / EUR 299.99.
