QJ.net - October 17, 2007

Submitted by feelmyring (351) at 7:43AM PST on October 17, 2007

"Industry analysts Ed Barton and Jesse Divnich appeared unconcerned about Nintendo's announcement regarding the Wii shortage this holiday season. According to Barton and Divnich, the supply deficit won't deal too much damage to Nintendo's dominant market position. Furthermore, they noted that the Wii is still outselling its competitors despite the shortage."

The Wii Friend Code is Mii specific

gamers.fr - May 27, 2007

Submitted by Bungalow_Bob (562) at 11:27AM PST on May 27, 2007

The Wii Friend Code is Mii specific for all competitive online games - just like Mario Strikers Charged. This means that multiple people can play the same game online on the same Wii using seperate accounts, and that you won´t have to add friends again for future online games if you´ve already added them for Mario Strikers. Justin Dowdeswell, the producer of Mario Strikers Charged, confirmed this.

So, How Much Money Does Nintendo Make From Each Wii Sold?

Kotaku - December 1, 2008

Submitted by necron101 (15) at 11:26PM PST on December 1, 2008

It's a well-known fact that Nintendo turn a profit on every Wii they sell. What's not well-known is how much profit they make. Nintendo won't tell us, but Macquarie Securities reckon they know. And, according to a report in Forbes citing Macquarie data, it's $6 per Wii. Bear in mind that's an analyst calculation, not hard fact, but it's likely not too far off the mark.

Hitler not welcome on Nintendo Wi-fi

Wii's World - May 18, 2008

Apparently it's still ok to have a Mii bearing the resemblance, but using the name is a no-no. This does raise the question, what if your name genuinely is Hitler?

Within this generation it took Microsoft’s Xbox 360 109 weeks from launch to hit 10 million units sold... Even the PS2, which has sold the most units of any console in history, needed 84 weeks from launch to sell 10 million in the Americas.
