The website stated that many people in the UK are trying to get their hands on a Wii console for Christmas but many of them have not yet been successful. The same story goes for the United States as holiday shoppers have been turned away left and right trying to get their hands on the Nintendo next-gen console

Nintendo Raises Wii Output

Nintendo, the world's largest maker of handheld game players, plans to keep monthly production at 1.8 million Wii consoles, after boosting the output during the three months ended June 30, President Satoru Iwata said at a briefing in Tokyo today. The console will also be sold in Korea from next year, Iwata said.

It now seems that Nintendo has made available an update to the firmware on the Wii to include many modest but nice changes. The biggest changes are evident on the Wii Shopping Channel where things have been reorganized and interface elements (like scrolling) seem smoother and more responsive.

Nintendo has said that it is to raise the price of the Wii in the UK due to the depreciation of the pound. The system has a recommended retail price of GBP 179.99 in the region, and with a price hike of around GBP 18 – 20, will put considerable pressure on retailers' margin.

How games get on VC & Future Storage (Iwata)

"Iwata said himself they're reviewing possible solutions for eliminating the inconvenience that "avid players" face in terms of storage on Wii. Also, covered is 3rd parties license their catalogs to Nintendo for VC releases, so if you do not see their games show up on VC it is likely due to Nintendo's choosing, not the 3rd party's.
