Capcom's recently released financial results reveal slightly less vague details about the release of the company's Resident Evil 5. Producer Jun Takeuchi previously told Famitsu that the game wouldn't make it before 2008. Now it doesn't look like the publisher will be able to get it to Xbox 360 and PLAYSTATION 3 owners before April 1 of next year.

The Resident Evil: Extinction Blu-ray disc, released on 2nd January in the US, will contain "demo" versions of Resident Evil 5 and Devil May Cry 4. Edit : It seems that is is not a demo, but trailer. Sorry for the mistake that the source cause.

As expected, the David-Bowie-soundalike Albert Wesker will be making an appearance in Resident Evil 5. The latest issue of Famitsu confirms his appearance, as well as introduce a new character into the mix. Her name is Excella Gionne (is that a car?) -- the daughter of a prominent family, Wesker's new collaborator is the head of the Tricel pharmaceutical company's branch in Africa, according to 1UP.

Last week, CTZ had the pleasure of joining John Martone and God Len for Spoiler-San. As they shot the sh*t on all things Cowboy Bebop, they started digging around IMDB for information on the voice actors. God Len came across Wendee Lee's profile and they saw that she has been cast in Resident Evil 5.

UK, September 2, 2008 - Capcom has confirmed that Resident Evil 5's control system is to undergo an overhaul, with a revised scheme to be unveiled at this October's Tokyo Game Show. With Takeuchi referring to the new system as similar to Gears of War, expect a new duck and cover system to replace the classic Resident Evil style of stop and shoot.

The story takes place roughly 10 years after the Raccoon Incident in the first Resident Evil game. The character which we've seen in the trailer is confirmed to be former S.T.A.R.S. member Chris Redfield. He now works for an organization called BSAA and was sent to a location (shown in the trailer) to investigate on a special case...

If you're just dying to know more about this direct-to-Blu-ray film release, Blu-ray.com scored some skin-crawling details regarding the zombie flick. Video will be presented in "1.78:1 1080p AVC" which is complemented by a "5.1 Dolby TrueHD soundtrack." With specs like that, stepping into the world of survival horror won't ever be the same.
