Those of you who crave a more hands-on experience should order their copy of LittleBigPlanet from Circuit City, where the preorder bonus will be an exclusive sticker book, with real physical stickers. It doesn't appear the preordering online will yield this bonus, so use this store locator to find a Circuit City location near you to preorder.

"If it will be possible to 'sign up' for this test, full information on how to do so will be made public in advance of the test.

Joystiq Hands on @ Sony Gamers Day '07

Joystiq - May 17, 2007

A breif run-over of the demo showed, as well as what to expect when the game premiers next year. "Out of everything being shown off here, this was what we were most looking forward to. They only had one demo station set up, and we couldn't shoot video of it, but ... wow."

PAX 2008: LittleBigPlanet Hands-On Preview

The Escapist - August 31, 2008

It's hard to overstate the appeal of LittleBigPlanet's overall presentation. It's graphically impressive and irrepressibly charming. I'd seen plenty of screens and video of the game, but playing it for myself put a huge smile on my face. The hands-on part of the demo was over far too quickly, and unfortunately didn't include any level-building.

LittleBigPlanet is now fundamentally complete, in pre-alpha bug-testing and due for a closed beta trial in early summer for some final tweaking. After that, the real work begins – ours. That might seem glib, even a little like an advertising line (something similar will doubtless market the title) but it’s fundamental to any assessment of the game that hopes to play bridesmaid to the next level of user-generated content on home consoles.

IGN Hands-On Sony's Spring Gamer's Day Event

IGN.com - May 17, 2007

Going in, I expected Sack Boy and his cohorts to leap like frogs and move with a speedy floatiness that we see in most platformers... but its characters are grounded heavily in the rules of the real world. This adherence to Newton's reality means that you can't just leap and bound your way through a stage after you create one and call it a day: you have to use the environment as efficiently as possible.

LittleBigPlanet manual published

This is odd. The LittleBigPlanet manual is now available here, at what appears to be an official SCEA URL. Take a look. It definitely is what it’s supposed to be. It’s the game out in nearly two months?

Spore producer and team 'really interested in LBP'

PS3 Fanboy - September 9, 2008

Submitted by noobie (468) at 5:21PM PST on September 9, 2008

So what game is Caryl Shaw, Spore's producer, most looking forward to? "I'm really interested in LittleBigPlanet, and I think the rest of the team is, too," she said with genuine excitement in her voice. "I really want to see their tool set and how easy it is to share [content] with other people. There's huge potential there if they do it right."
