More than a year ago, Activision revealed that the company was interested in branching its Guitar Hero franchise onto platforms such as the Nintendo DS. It's been a long wait, but the company has finally revealed exclusively to IGN and Yahoo the Guitar Hero game that will soon hit the dual-screen handheld later this year.

"The previous record for most consoles (of any kind) sold in a week in the UK was 185,000. That mark belonged to Sony, and was set during the PSP's launch in 2005. It's gone now. The new record stands at 191,000, and was set by the Nintendo DS last week."

While Wii has been setting new sales records left and right, the Nintendo DS's domination announces its presence again with a new sales record in UK. Nintendo announced that it sold an unprecedented 191,000 units in a period of 7 days last week, beating the previous record of the most hardware units sold in a week set during the PSP's launch at 185,000 units sold.
