"If you've been adding up all the weekly sales figures, you were probably already aware of this, but sales tracker Media Create announced today that the DS has crossed the twenty million mark in Japanese sales. The feat comes less than three years after the system's 12/2/2004 release. Sales have been particular brisk since the release of the DS Lite, as prior to the redesign's release in February 2006, the platform had just reached the six million mark."

On Saturday, Nintendo released the Japan-only Metallic Rose and the Gloss Silver DS Lites. It was fairly easy to acquire both all weekend with the new colors being readily available at several different game retailers I frequent; however, I'm sure it sold out somewhere in The Land of the Rising Sun. Here's a gallery of pics for those thinking of importing. The Metallic Rose isn't that attractive - in fact, it's downright fugly. But man, that silver one. HOT!

This is funny and enlightening. To some it is a gross thought, to others it makes sense because it is a great way to pass time. but either way it is interesting.
personally i play solitaire on my phone when i use the restroom at work. contemplating getting a ds lite now. jk

The DSi is out in Japan real soon. But as far as the US and Europe are concerned? Nintendo Europe say "Spring 2009", Nintendo of America say "late 2009". But what about Nintendo Japan? They're the boss, what do they say? Nintendo boss Satoru Iwata says this:
