"As a package, Tekken 6 is far from perfect but it's still a solid fighter and superior to the likes of KOFXII for head-to-head couch play. Had Namco spent a bit less time on the forgettable Scenario Campaign and more on sorting out the netcode, however, this could have gone higher. A miracle patch would be very helpful. "

The end of the Year of the Fighter is upon us, and Tekken 6, the last major release of 09, is finally out the door. Namco Bandai is apparently very excited about the sales figures thus far, with their announcement of 2.5 million units being shipped worldwide across the PS3 and Xbox 360.

It looks like fighting fans may have to wait just a bit longer for Tekken 6 to hit the PS3. Earlier today, the Tekken 6: Bloodline Rebellion upgrade was announced for the arcade version of Tekken 6. Bloodline Rebellion should add new stages, sound tracks, costumes, characters, and bug fixes to the existing version of Tekken 6. The console version of Tekken 6 will be most likely be delayed to incorporate these new updates, possibly even into 2009.

Bandai Namco, the Japanese parent to Namco Bandai, have released new details on the arcade version of Tekken 6, including shots of the monstrous cabinet. The deluxe cabinet, pictured above, will feature four 32" inch monitors with 720p output, and run arcade operators a cool 4.48 million yen

...According to Impress Watch, the company announced at the event that Tekken 6 will, like Tekken 5 Dark Resurrection Online, feature online combat. The online play will be just part of a variety of new modes that will feature in the home version.
