The shocking moments, the gruesome deaths, and the fun of playing through this experience again and again are what I took away from this one. Dead Space 2 is an excellent game, and it's well worth your time and money.

EA has just announced the very first downloadable content pack for Dead Space 2. It's called Severed and it features two extra single-player chapters featuring the characters from Visceral's Wii/PS3 spin-off, Dead Space: Extraction. Players will step into the shoes of Gabe, a Sprawl security guard who is attempting to escape the Necromorph attack with Lexine. It'll be set at some point during Isaac's Clarke's own nightmare.

Dead Space 2 receives an 8.5 from Gamespot

Dead Space 2's thrilling campaign and intense multiplayer make it an excellent game and a worthy follow-up to its superb predecessor. The Good: Campaign starts strong and ends strong. Dismembering necromorphs is as thrilling as ever. Some great new necromorph types. Wonderfully atmospheric visuals and sound design. Exhilarating multiplayer. The Bad: No significant gameplay advances over the first game. Single-player falls into predictable rhythm for a while. Some dull objectives.
