Pictures of the digital content custom that comes with the Xbox 360 Limited Edition Halo 4 console bundle leaked out on Friday. That's not all though as pictures for the digital content for the Halo 4 Limited Edition and the Halo 4 Limited Edition Controller leaked out as well.

This week the E3 Microsoft keynote has revealed more than just a little bit of information on the most widely anticipated shooter of 2012: Halo 4. This game is now set for November 6th, 2012, and will be developed by Microsoft-owned 343 Industries instead of Bungie Studios. Microsoft showed off a brand new full trailer for the game and made sure the audience understood that this will indeed be the biggest game out since Halo 3.

Master Chief will awaken in November. Microsoft Corp. announced Tuesday that "Halo 4," the seventh game in the popular sci-fi franchise starring armored hero Master Chief, is scheduled for worldwide release Nov. 6 on Xbox 360. Set four years after the events of "Halo 3," the shoot-'em-up sequel will focus on Master Chief Petty Officer John-117 and sidekick Cortana battling an ancient enemy.

Microsoft announced the exclusive digital content that would be included in the Halo 4 Xbox 360 Limited Edition Halo 4 bundle but did not show us what some of the unique in-game armor, Xbox LIVE avatar and pet, weapon skin and emblem would look like. Thanks to a leak on Friday, we now know.

There’s a lot of secrecy swirling around Halo 4. Quite understandable, really. Halo 4 is to be a true sequel unlike the rereleased and remastered Halo – Combat Evolved Anniversary due this November 15. Combat Evolved is an updated version of the first installment of the Halo franchise from 10 years ago. It’s a good way to introduce newcomers to the series to all the features and elements that put Halo on the map.

Halo: The Movie will happen in time for a release next year, according to a new report. The French press kit for the new novel Halo: Cryptum, apparently contains the line: "A film adaptation is set in 2012. It will be conducted jointly by two heavyweights of American cinema: Steven Spielberg and Dreamworks." 343 Industries, guardians of the Halo IP are currently working on Halo: CE Anniversary - out next month - and Halo 4 set for a release at the end of 2012.

Throughout the development of Halo 4, it has become clear that 343 Industries has something to prove. When Halo creators Bungie parted ways with Microsoft, 343 undertook one of the most challenging projects in the industry: Live up to and exceed the reputation Bungie had established for this iconic franchise.

During the PAX conference last week, 343 Industries’ creative director Frank O’Connor revealed that the company plans to develop a new Halo trilogy that the team refers to as "Reclaimer." This new trilogy picks up where Halo 3 ended as John "Master Chief" Connor tells his ship's female AI, Cortana, to "wake me, when you need me," and then enters a cryonic sleep.

During a report last week on the conflict in Syria, BBC News accidentally used the logo for the 'United Nations Space Command' -- the agency tasked with protecting Earth from hostile forces in the Halo video game franchise -- to represent the significantly less fictional United Nations Security Council. Whoops!
