Players Choice games have been around since the SNES, whereby Nintendo lowers the price of its best selling games (MS Platinum Hits, Sony Greatest Hits). But now Nintendo believes they don't need them anymore because they're selling games just fine without it. Do you guys think this will hurt overall profit and/or gamer respect?

Ok, this will be my last comment as well.
Prices would matter more to so-called "casual" gamers anyways. And besides, Nintendo already has software that averages $10 less than its competing systems.
And since Nintendo has/is rolling out games for many of its "gamer" IPs (Zelda, Metroid, Mario, Smash Bros), perhaps players could stop blaming a single software developer for the content of its system and start asking why more 3rd party companies aren't bringing "hardcore" games to the Wii. It's not Nintendo's choice (and nevermind that many companies have brought games such as Splinter Cell, Godfather, Scarface, etc over) for what games an independent company decides to develop for their system.
