"After seeing LittleBigPlanet at TGS, I believe it could be a console mover," commented Pachter.
"The game is really innovative, and I think it adds a family element that is so far missing from both the Xbox 360 and the PS3. If they can accompany that games launch with a price cut (or a lower priced SKU), I think we will see a spike in sales," he added. "If Sony doesn't cut price at all during its fiscal year, they will probably miss their 11 million shipment target," he said. "However, a price cut early in 2008 should spark sales, and their line-up of LittleBigPlanet, Gran Turismo 5, Metal Gear Solid 4 and Grand Theft Auto 4 should help move consoles." "If they don't cut price, they'll probably sell through around 7 million for the fiscal year, and will probably ship no more than 8 - 9 million," he added.

I'm doubtful that a whimsical platformer will sell the most expensive system on the block. Also, does anyone have any idea of how platformers tend to sell on PS systems? Especially if it's a 2D(or 2D style) one. I think a game like this would sell better in the House of Mario.
I see this game ending up as being classified as revolutionary, but not a huge sales hit. System seller? People aren't going to throw down over $500 for it.[ Oracle ] [ Level 21 ] [ Rank: 182 ]bids

It's much more than a platformer, it's a game editor that works on the fly. Like Halo 3's forge only much deeper. You can create your own levels and distribute them. It's also got great graphics and charm. The games got a good personality ;). I think it will also be budget priced since it will be available on the PSN. I haven't had shares in this stock since I sold them after I saw a huge gain, only to see later that if I had held onto them my gain would've doubled.[ Oracle ] [ Level 26 ] [ Rank: 241 ]bids

I understood the forecast is to reflect this hype...but this just seems like a platformer. True, PS3 and Xbox 360 lack platformers, but that doesn't mean the gamer demographic of those systems are wanting a platformer. Why wouldn't they just get a Wii and play Super Mario Galaxy?

I personally don't get why this title is so hyped, but from forum comments I gathered that Sony fans seem to love this title. So if the PS3 get a decent user base the 2.5 million are in the range of reasonable.[ Oracle ] [ Level 21 ] [ Rank: 112 ]bids

I'm not trying to say it will be a system seller, just trying to provide info on why the game will be great in response to Powertrades question. And I think calling this game a platformer is giving it little credit, as it is not just a platformer.
