Computer Base is reporting that the new 40GB PS3s will make use of the shrinkafied 65nm Cell processor.

IIRC the original PS3 cost somewhere around 900 to make.
The last update we got it was down to 750 to make, that was about a Quarter ago. Somehow I doubt they have reduced that cost more than 50 bucks since then.[ Oracle ] [ Level 22 ] [ Rank: 122 ]bids

I knew it, it was allready revealed that it draw less current, the 40 GB made a lot of sense. How far down are the production costs of the PS3 know. The last estimate was for the U.S. 60 gig with full BC. EE $20 GC $40 new 65 nm chips 20-40$ new motherboard another 10$? Blue ray should been farther dropped by know.
