"But judging by the obvious spike in eBay listings of Wii consoles, I think it's fair to say the only thing sated was greed. From 9 a.m. Eastern Sunday to 9 p.m. Eastern Sunday alone more than 13,500 Wii consoles were listed for sale in the U.S. on eBay. Coincidence? I can't imagine."

I would respect an opinion and discussion more than a unjustified downbid. I realize I can easily be wrong, it's not a question of pride or something: if I am saying something obviously wrong and untrue I would like to learn and correct myself, if however you simply have a different view on a subject that's not that black and white I think that would be best expressed through discussion... downbids without explanations discourage people from saying things and discussions on TSE, which i believe is a bad thing to be avoided... I've seen a couple of members I respect say they'll refrain from speaking out loud because of downbids, people who I loved hearing the views of, and i thought that sucked because it's great knowing different points of view and having intelligent data full discussions... This is why I'd like to propose again, like others did before me, that we discuss not downbid simply because we don't like somebody else's view. One of the main reasons I like TSE so much is because of the superb discussions between brilliant minds with mindblowing facts (often on both sides) that it's been my pleasure to read here.
