Hackers have discovered a way to run retail PS3 games off the PS3's internal HDD and off external USB HDDs. Rampant piracy has always cast its dark shadow over the PSP ... will the PS3 be next? Let's hope not.

It would be a nice option to do with PS3 games you actually own. For instance: Warhawk for the PS3 is available in stores and on the PSN for download. And, although a disc version and a HDD only version exist (and seem to be exactly identical), I do not have the option for a "full" install, since I own the bluray version.
Also using your internal HDD for full bluray games would fill it up fast. That's where the USB external hdd support is awesome. You are no longer limited to 2.5 "laptop" HDDs sizes. You can stick a 1TB on the sucker if you wanted. That is unless the PS3 has a size limitation.
