According to XboxFamily, Microsoft has contacted Gyration about a motion-sensitive peripheral for Xbox 360 controllers. Gyration, was previously charged with the task of creating a prototype Wii remote, so they're certainly qualified for the job. Details are a bit light and include no official word from Microsoft.
Tilt-sensing has been available to the mod-savvy 360 gamer for some time now, but a first-party solution would bring the Xbox 360 in what might now be considered a hardware standard.
