Today, Vgchartz data revealed that Wii topped 10 million units in the Americas for the week ending March 22, 2008. Wii hit 10 million in only 70 weeks from its November 2006 launch in the Americas, which is easily a record... Within this generation it took Microsoft’s Xbox 360 109 weeks from launch to hit 10 million units sold... Even the PS2, which has sold the most units of any console in history, needed 84 weeks from launch to sell 10 million in the Americas.

You forget that NPD is missing 3 weeks of sales, VGC does not. That should add 400k (if you take our current estimate). So you are on 8.5 Million + 10% for canada and mexico = 9.4 Million. And VGC is higher than NPD in Jan and Feb (here a little more). Good way they are low in March, because their shops just don't seem to stockpile for big launches, we will see. P
Again they track different markets. They track what Nintendo is reporting as America, and there where 8.85 million shipped until Jan 1, according to Nintendo. Of course you can say that some of them where in shop, but sell through should be really really close. ay close attention to what Nintendo report as shipped, but I would guess 1.2 Million since Jan 1 is not unlikely, don't you think?
I really can't understand why people think this is such a high discrepency at all. If you look at japan, you Media Create an Famitsui also differ, and nobody think it is bad?
