Call of Duty 4 remains at number one while GTA IV falls to number 3 as Halo 3 moves back to second. The Battlefield Bad Company Demo hits a surprising 4 and Guitar Hero 3 rounds out the top 5.

Thanks for the clarification on my remarks. (I wasn't sure how the Live activity worked specifically due to my lack of a 360.)

Obviously game with large multiplayer componants are going to carry longer but I think it is a good guage as to which games are popular. I think Live activity can be used as a very rough gauge for sales.
However, this only applies to games with large multiplayer components. The only time that Live activity should be used to predict sales numbers is when the title has a large online component and if the standing in the ranking for Live shifts dramatically (e.g. from top 5 to below top 10).
I think part of the reason for the shift in GTA IV's Live activity may have to do with the fact that the game has a very large single player component compared to the other titles surrounding it in the top 5. In addition, the sales sales thus far on the 360 are probably still behind the other popular titles (CoD4 and Halo 3).[ Oracle ] [ Level 20 ] [ Rank: 294 ]bids

Is this fact (GTAIV fall under halo 3) important as a clue of whether GTAIV S/W are doing great or not in US ? Thanks for info. Look like this news is only significant IF GTAIV dropped out of Top 5, not just drop from #1 to #3.
