GFK Chart-Track has told GamesIndustry.biz that sales of Xbox 360 hardware rose 32% over the weekend of Microsoft's latest price reduction.
In comparison, sales of Sony's PS3 were down eight per cent on the previous weekend.
Last night, Microsoft announced that sales of the Xbox 360 have hit six million units across Europe. Microsoft's latest aggressive hardware pricing now puts the Arcade Xbox 360 unit at GBP 129.99 in the UK, making it the cheapest of the current generation home consoles.

Since arcade is now cheaper than Wii, it is of extreme importance to know whether Arcade price point are eating into Wii sales or not.

Probably because Wii is so far ahead in terms of sales, that the competition is now between PS3 and 360 for second place, Wii is already seen as the clear winner, possibly an incorrect assumption, but time will tell. Wii sales were probably fairly stable if shipment levels were, even if they werent it wouldnt be down to a change in consumer demand that this article seems to be focusing on.[ Oracle ] [ Level 22 ] [ Rank: 150 ]bids

Also don't forget. The UK already had one price drop and was doing better for a sustained period of time after it. 360 sales have always been healthy in the UK so whilst it's not the same % increase, the US drop was a bigger one in relative terms.
