PS3 games sales are up 53% and there's a healthy 1.1m pre-order book for Killzone 2, the first of a new batch of IPs that Sony will be counting on.

\be very wary of interpreting this as 1.1million sold as that most certainly is not the case, I can't remember the name of the game but another figure was put out like this for pre-orders and it failed to live up to it spectacularly i believe.[ Oracle ] [ Level 22 ] [ Rank: 150 ]bids

its Europe only. "European pre-orders for Killzone 2 have surpassed 1.1 million units.
"The 1.1m pre-orders are for Europe only and that's [as] of last week," Sony told us after the figure was reported in today's Guardian.
Effectively Killzone 2's already a million seller in Europe then, which isn't bad going, especially seeing as the game's £2 million marketing campaign has yet to get into gear."

There was no specific mention that the 1.1 Million pre-order if for Europe only. I know that the person speaking is SCEE, which should only talk about Europe, but he also talked about PSN vs Live, in which he mentioned global # (17.5 Million, 55% of all playstation owners).
"Then there's the success of PlayStation Network, which overhauled the massive headstart of Xbox Live to amass 17.5 million users, 55% of all PlayStation owners, increasing revenues by 200% in 2008."
As someone who is short on this stock, I choose to interpret it as 1.1 Million pre-order for world wide. Maybe someone who owned PS3 and are familiar with PSN can shed some light whether the # is global as I suspected, or are actually Europe only ?[ Oracle ] [ Level 30 ] [ Rank: 14935 ]bids

U mean Too Human? I'm pretty sure that it was a rumor that they had a million pre- orders, it was never confirmed by anyone from MS or from Silicon Knights.
