We have compiled our latest Americas hardware data for the week ending 22nd August and in the three days following the price cut, daily PS3 hardware saw around a 30% increase.

Yes, you should have put "estimates" in the post title because that's exactly what it is. Many SimExchange players will not click on the link itself and some may not even see that the source is VGC or be able to infer what it means as readily as you suggest.
The source is irrelevant. I could have posted Anita Frazier's hypothesis that PS3 sales would rise 40-60% after the price cut as "NPD: PS3 sales rise 40-60%". It would have been just as inaccurate.[ Oracle ] [ Level 21 ] [ Rank: 291 ]bids

I am not really defending VGC or my article title, I am just pointing out that simEx members would have know already that VGC's # are estimate, and are not in synch with NPD #. It have been proven quite a lot in the past, and I am sure it will happen again in the future.
The latest case of VGC not in synch with NPD can be found in July 09 NPD, for Mario Kart DS, the worst offender. VGC estimates 61,787, while NPD report 132,200 (53% error against NPD).[ Oracle ] [ Level 30 ] [ Rank: 14935 ]bids

Do you really want me to change the title to include "estimates" word ? That could be taken as an insult / attack against VGC.
"Everyone" knows that VGC's first week # are estimate. It happened with MGS4, Wii Fit, Halo 3 and many other games. Even some of their LTD are estimates. This does not mean that I must always add the "estimate" word in every reference to VGC.
VGC claimed that they have access to retailer data, even though it is not as comprehensive as NPD's. Therefore, the "estimate" is not 100% estimate, like my own estimate or your estimate. Whether VGC's estimate based on data's from small percentage of retailer will result in better "estimate" than yours or mine is the reason why simExchange is interesting. If VGC's are always better, then there is no need for simExchange and it's player.[ Oracle ] [ Level 30 ] [ Rank: 14935 ]bids
