Marvel: Ultimate Alliance is a third-person mission-based RPG similar to the X-Men Legends series (both developed by Raven). For those unfamiliar with the series, the game follows the Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance form of hack-and-slash RPG. The game features over 140 characters from the Marvel Universe (over 20 playable characters). Players can join in 4 player cooperative play. Players construct teams of Marvel superheroes to complete each level. As you progress, more heroes will join the fight, expanding the pool from which you can build your team. You will also gain experience points that improve your stats and skill points for special powers. Your characters can also get special gear for additional enhancements. The game also includes comic book missions that recreate events from the character's past such as encounters with an arch rival. Marvel: Ultimate Alliance features over 17 notable locations from the Marvel Universe. The decisions players make will affect the ending of the game.

The Xbox 360 version uses detailed character models and environments as seen in the PS3 version. This version also includes two exclusive characters not available on the PS2, Xbox, and PC versions.

This listing includes sales of Marvel: Ultimate Alliance AND Marvel: Ultimate Alliance GOLD. See comment section June 25, 2007.

8.8/10: Marvel Ultimate Alliance is a feature-packed game; one of those rare birds that feels like arcade gaming, but with that next-gen edge that helps to justify $400 dollars of hardware.
