Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 is coming to Sony's PLAYSTATION 3. The game is a PS3 remake of the "Only on Xbox 360" title Ninja Gaiden II.
The game will have PSN support as well as new content.
Like the original title, Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 is being developed by Tecmo's Team Ninja. However, Ninja Gaiden II was designed by former Team Ninja lead ninja Tomonobu Itagaki, who has since left the company.

Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 Announced for PS3

According to a recent issue of Japanese mag Famitsu, PlayStation 3 owners are set to get another taste of Team Ninja's action franchise, in the form of Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2.
Much like the original Sigma reworked the Xbox's Ninja Gaiden, Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 appears to be a modified version of the Xbox 360's Ninja Gaiden 2 (Higher res and 60fps). Images depict several familiar environments and characters, along with some new shots of Dead or Alive's Ayane, who may be a playable character.

The most intense, challenging, action-packed ninja adventure is back and arriving exclusively on the PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system this fall. The latest installment in the critically acclaimed series, NINJA GAIDEN® SIGMA 2, will be launching September 29, 2009 in North America, followed by Japan and Europe.

Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 will feature a "Co-op Mission Mode".
The new mode will need 2 players, obviously. The mode can be played online or offline, and features over 30 missions.
The games producer says "The rule is simple: if one of the two players dies, it's game over."
