Bayonetta on PS3 is a mixed experience. On the one hand you have some excellent Devil May Cry-style action with some of the most enjoyable combat you’ll ever play. While on the other, you have a half-assed port of the same game on the Xbox 360, with a ridiculous amount of extra loading screens, lower frame rate and dulled graphics.

"How have 3D action games evolved since we blazed a new trail with DMC? Can you even go so far as to say they�ve evolved?
Seven years ago, we put everything we had into Devil May Cry. But since then, like the hands of time for the 3D action genre were frozen at that moment, it seems like the drive to push users further has stopped. There is so much more that should be done now. This is the spark that has lit the fire within me.

Bayonetta PS3 and XBox Sales Top 1.1 Million

SEGA announced in its third quarter fiscal results dated February 5, 2010 that worldwide sales of Bayonetta on XBox360 and PS3 have totaled 1.1 million so far.

Sega confirms that the upcoming action-adventure is hitting the Land of the Rising Sun on October 29th, Western release should be close as the company wanted a worldwide release

That site follows famitsu, and Famitsu have # for Top 30.
Kotaku is referring to M-create, who only have # for Top 10.
I didn't follow bayonetta closely, but usually, when a game is below Top 30, the # is quite insignificant, that the LTD will not differ wildly (it will not be 650K instead of 165K. It will be something close, like 185K or 195K).[ Oracle ] [ Level 30 ] [ Rank: 14935 ]bids

1@apujanata, That logic is flawed. The numbers that site is quoting only represent the first two weeks of sales in Japan for the PS3 version of Bayonetta. See this Kotaku Japan game chart. It was knocked out of the top ten list its third week so sales were no longer reported. In other words, it looks like the site you linked to only lists the sales of a game during the period in which it was a top ten seller in Japan. Sales are clearly higher than 165k in Japan for the PS3, though by exactly how much would be a guess.
On the other hand, you are correct that the 1.1 million is the combined global units shipped. It states this clearly on the last page of SEGA's quarterly report.[ Veteran ] [ Level 20 ] [ Rank: 373 ]bids
