@Laoldar, I think its too soon to say whether or not Nintendo made an ideal choice by not embracing HD, the Wii hasn't been out for a whole year yet. It is possible though. The important thing about Sony & MS embracing HD is that for many, particularly the hardcore gamers, it delivers a significant improvement to their experience & the technology allowed HD quite easily. And the hardcore gamers buy the most software, by far. I just read that recently in a study. In a few years HDTV ownership will reach over 50% of households, I believe it's at 30%+ right now in the US, and then we have the conversion to digital cable. 2-3 years from now will truly reveal whether or not HD gaming was truly worth the cost.
