@vGInfidel, My best guess is that PES sold more on PS3 due to more core gamers owning PS3 than casuals (due to price), and Fifa sold more on 360 because there are more casuals on 360 than PS3 (due to price). I base this on someone here who posted a few days ago that PES is a more strategic game and Fifa is a more casual game.
And I think that is one major reason even despite the fact that Sony backed Fifa and MS backed PES. And it actually makes sense to me now why they backed the games they did, perhaps they knew the opposing game was already their strong set and they needed to go after the game that was not.
